What is an Isolation Valve?
An Isolation Valve is a type of valve that will completely obstruct the path of gas or water to certain sections or the complete boiler system. An isolation valve will usually be found on the connecting pipes across the bottom of the boiler. The main purpose of an Isolation Valve is to close off the boiler so maintenance or repairs can be carried out. There are different types of an Isolation Valve used on a boiler by the way they are opened and closed, generally they are Tap Isolation Valve, Wheel head Isolation Valve or Lever Isolation Valve. An Isolation Valve can also be referred to as flow and return, filling loop or inlet and outlet.
