The thermistor is a device which alters the resistance of the circuit as the temperature changes. There are two types of thermistors these are known as PTC or NTC, it is important to use the correct thermistor as these are designed to be used by the control board to detemine if more heat is required in the system depending on the resistance in the circuit .
