The flow switch is a safety mechanism that has a built in sensor which sits in the pipework for both the heating and hot water systems. The flow switch is designed to detect movement in the pipework and relays the information to the printed circuit board which then allows the ignition sequence to progress. The purpose of the flow switch is to make sure there is enough water in the system and stops the burner from activating if the system is low on water.
