This part is located near the pilot burner. The pilot burner works in conjunction with the pilot assembly to ensure that the gas is safely ignited. When the appliance is activated the gas valve allows the gas into the burner and the pilot burner, a naked flame inside the appliance is needed to begin the combustion of the gas which is flowing into the burner .
