The insulation is commonly found in the combustion chamber and is used to prevent heat escaping through the side of the combustion chamber, this increases the boilers efficiency. Insulation must be handled with care as it can be delicate and any damage to the insulation will allow heat to escape, the escaping heat may cause damage to other parts of the boilers which are sensitive to heat such as the PCB .
