This part is located within the condensate trap section. The condensate trap is used to hold the discharge which builds up from the heating/cooling system. This is caused by the changing pressures and temperatures in the system. A discharge pipe connected to the condensate trap is used to move any water held in the trap out of the property. The water in the trap may be acidic due carbon dioxide from the combustion process being absorbed in the water.
