The pressure relief valve, sometimes called relief valve, PRV or safety valve, is used to manage the pressure in a system. It is set to open if the pressure within the system rises past a certain point to prevent any severe damage to the system . Each PRV has a set "bar", once this bar is reached the prv opens to allow water to escape which in turn decreases the pressure within the system .
