The condensate trap is used to extract the discharge created by the heating/cooling process. This is caused by the change in temperature and pressure in the system. A discharge pipe connected to the condensate trap is used to move any water held in the trap out of the property. The water inside a trap may be mildly acidic due to the carbon dioxide released in the combustion process being absorbed in the water.
