The condensate trap is used to capture the discharge from the heating/cooling process. This is caused by the change of pressures and temperatures within the systems. A discharge pipe which is attached to the condensate trap is used to remove water from the trap and out of the property. The water collected in a condensate trap may be mildly acidic due to the combustion process and the carbon dioxide which is being dissolved in the water.
