The pressure relief valve, sometimes called PRV, relief valve or safety valve, is used to relieve the pressure in a system. It is set to open when the pressure within the system rises past a certain point to prevent the system being severely damaged . Each PRV has an internal "bar" limit set, when the pressure within the system exceeds the bar the pressure relief valve opens and the build up of water is discharged which in turn decreases the pressure within the system .
