Product Information: The pilot burner is a naked flame within the unit that is used to begin combustion of the gas that is coming in to the main burner. When the appliance is switched on the gas valve releases gas in to the burner which is then ignited by the pilot flame. The pilot flame works in conjuction with the pcb and the rest of the pilot assembly to ensure that the gas is ignited safely and efficiently.

This part is present in 70 different boilers in the Ideal range including the Ideal CLASSIC HE 9 , CLASSIC HE 12 , CLASSIC HE 15 , CLASSIC HE 18 , BRITISH/SCOTTISH GAS RD .
