This part is located around the flow switch section. The flow switch is used as a safety mechanism that has an inbuilt sensor which sits in the pipework for both the central heating and hot water systems. The flow switch is designed to detect movement in the pipework and transmits the information to the printed circuit board (PCB) which then allows the ignition sequence to progress. The purpose of the flow switch is making sure there is plenty of water in the system and prevents the burner from activating if the system is low on water.
